I’m a beginner in C++ programming. This course guides me through C++ learning process from the theoretical concept to quantitative application. I benefited a lot from the solid knowledge and skills professor Dunffy and TA taught me.
It's an advanced course for students who have no idea of Financial Engineering. It is great and powerful. I only have some knowledge of basic C language at the beginning. TA is patient and students there are inspiring. I will definitely recommend this course to my friends.
The course is great! It completely meets my original goal!
The course was structured in a way that helps students with no previous programming background like myself understand the basics of C++ and its applications in financial engineering. After taking this course, I feel very confident about learning other programming languages such as Python and R.
The course is great for me. During the course, I improve my programming ability and get to know the application of C++ to option pricing. It meets my original goal.
Excellent course. I think it beats the competition compared to a python "coding bootcamp" course I took. Quantnet C++ went much deeper and presented concepts better and more technically.
Overall it's a very nice experience to learn c++ on QuantNet. The TA's are always ready to help and the discussions are insightful. The course materials are informative and easy to understand.
the lecture video may switch to more recent windows version.
The format of this course is well constructed. The discussion sections really helped me a lot to understand the homework assignments. TA's are very helpful and they usually respond in a very short time after submitting questions or the homework.
I am really happy about the quality of the course and its content. The course is goal oriented and very instructive. TA are always there to provide assistance.
The course is very good and can meet my initial needs. But the content of the teacher's class is slightly faster, and sometimes it can't meet the requirements of novices. I hope the teacher can explain the relevant content a little more detailed
This course far exceeded my expectations with hard-core and useful c++ knowledge and well-designed homework helping me learn the application of c++ in financial engineering field!
The course is quite challenging but interesting, it provides a lot of knowledge needed for me to prepare a MFE program. Also, the knowledge learned can also be useful in my internship.
Original goal was to land a career in quantitative analysis. The course quality is high for c++. I’m not sure how much it can help in a career but it definitely increased my ability in coding by a huge step.
The material itself was very good and I learned many new C++ techniques that I haven't known existed. However, I was hoping to be able to use real data (such as connecting to API and pulling data in or using a local csv) in our computation.
I think the homework helps a lot, and the tutor's comments are very detailed, but the content of the course materials is too concise. Although the course gives many reference books, it is not easy to extract effective information from these books. If you want to complete the work, you need to find a lot of information online. Anyway, I still learned a lot from this course.
Overall the course is great and my c++ skill has improved a lot through out this course. Thank you for all your effort.
I think the quality of the course is very high and it provides basic knowledge for C++ learner. Aftering completing the course, I have known much more about C++ than before.
Quality is rather good but course can be made better
It definitely is the best programming course I've ever taken. It satisfies every aspect, if not exceeding, of my original goal. I've learned a great deal in both c++ and financial engineering. This is the course every FE beginner coming from a non-CS background should have. I'm now a much more proficient programmer than I was back when I only knew interpreted languages.
