Undergrad in IT from NIT with 7.4/10, 1 publication
GRE- Q170/V156
CFA L1
3.5 YoE as SDE at a FinTech

Want to get into top MFE or equivalent programs in US. Wanted 330GRE to compensate low GPA but couldn't reach that unfortunately.
Should I write GRE again which means I will have to apply on the next round of applications?
What else can I do to improve my chances?
What are my honest chances of getting into top 8th-10th programs acc. to QuantNet ranking US?

You will get into some programs on the QuantNet rankings but for your own good, best to aim for the best programs. This may mean make your profile stronger. Your GRE is fine as far as GRE Q is concerned.
Getting into the MFE program is the easiest part of the process. Being able to be ready on day 1 to interview, doing course works, and compete with thousands of other applicants.
Are you prepared to deal with multiple rejections without giving up?
My honest assessment is that it will get brutal in the next few years with the new administration and uncertainty around immigration, work permits, etc.

No need to retake GRE. Most of the programs dont care about the GRE and the ones that do, only care about Quant score.

As for your chances, I won’t be surprised if you get into a top 10 program. I would also not be surprised if you do not get into any top 10 program. It is all going to come down to your essays. You really need to sell the admission committee on your motivations on why you want to pursue a quant program and why you have all the skillset required to succeed in the program. Highlight your success in the work place and try to get very strong LoRs.
