The Baruch MFE students won the 2024 Rotman International Trading Competition (RITC) that took place last week in a dominant fashion: they won 5 of the 6 cases (Commodities Trading, Liquidity Risk, Algorithmic CAPM Forecasting, Electricity Trading, Options Trading), for an overall win with a new all-time scoring record.

Winning five out of six cases in a competition with 42 universities from 13 countries from four continents: Australia, Canada, China, Hong Kong, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Poland, Slovakia, Thailand, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, and United States required focus from the first to the last trading event. It was wonderful to behold and a harbinger for great careers to come!

Our partner Virtu Financial sponsored the participation of our students at the RITC competition once again this year. We are very thankful to them, as it created the optimal environment for our students to maximize their PnL and achieve this record-setting win.

This is the 8th win overall for the Baruch MFE Program at RITC and the 5th win in a row, including winning in-person competitions in 2020 and 2024 and virtual competitions in 2021, 2022, and 2023, to go with wins in 2012, 2016, and 2017.

The full ranking and the case summaries are attached.

The other four programs from Top 5 in the 2024 QuantNet ranking also participated at RITC this year: UC Berkeley (7), Carnegie Mellon (12), Princeton (30), and Columbia University (36).
