I've looked at the sticky with the master reading list and bought "Thinking in C++." I've just now looked more into these forums and realized this book is actually for an intermediate level programmer. I have never programmed before nor do I have any knowledge of it whatsoever so I need a total beginner book. I think it's down to these two books:
1. Problem Solving with C++ by Walter Savitch
2. Absolute C++ by Walter Savitch
Which one should I get?
