Are econometrics courses seen as a big plus on an application? I'm thinking of replacing a database management (sql) course with a higher level econometrics course.

Economic Problems in Linear Regression Analysis
3 hours; 3 credits
A course on econometric methods. Ordinary least squares and generalized least squares models will be applied to a range of economic and financial problems. Specification and estimation of simultaneous equation systems. Class discussion will be augmented by extensive exposure to applied modeling problems.

This is in addition to an intro econometrics course.

I don't know what looks better on an application, but I think that sql is more useful in the workplace. I think that econometrics (beyond the basics) are best learned on the job, with real-world problems.
