Will I be able to use the CLion IDE for this course instead of Visual Studio? I am a big user of other IDEs from Jetbrains so will fin CLion easier to use.

1) It's a really good IDE
2) A lot of the sample code is provided as VS projects
3) IDE-specific support is in VS, not others
