During my studies I remember using GAMS software in some finance courses and I hated it because I felt it was so outdated and oldfashioned.

I have actually never seen a job posting in which the company mentions GAMS. I was wondering if GAMS software is still being used somewhere in the industry?

I know it is a "stupid" questions because how can someone know what all the financial companies in the world use, but people who have been in the industry might have a clue anyway.

GAMS is used. It's very niche.

Regarding things that look outdated and old fashioned, if you plan to work in big bank, outdated and old fashioned is everywhere so be ready for the shock. If this bothers you, working for a big bank/established institution is not for you.
