Based at our client’s downtown Toronto office, the Quantitative Financial Analyst will be an important addition to a dynamic multi-disciplinary team, with a strong track record of structuring and managing investments.

The Quantitative Analyst will develop analytical framework, infrastructure and methodology to facilitate the work of the company’s Origination and Investment team. Primary responsibilities include enhancing our industry models and identifying risk factors, developing and executing quantitative approaches for pricing with respect to risk analysis of metals and mining transactions. A critical component of this work will be identifying patterns and themes in the developed data set. The models and matrices involve both physical assets such as processing facilities, mines as well as financial instruments such as futures, forwards, options, and swaps.

During a period of rapid growth, the Quantitative Financial Analyst will use strong communication and quantitative skills to develop and implement practical business solutions. The new position will focus on re-building and enhancing existing models; developing data mining architecture, statistical reporting, coding standards; and producing quantitatively rich and conceptually meaningful reporting based on analytical work product.

The ideal candidate is a quant, with a minimum of 5 years experience. Experience in the global mining industry is strongly preferred. A Masters degree in a technical field (Finance/Computational Finance, Mathematics, Engineering, Statistics, or Physics) as well as fluency in at least one programming language is required (C/C++, Python, Matlab, or Fortran). The ideal candidate will possess knowledge of capital markets products, methodologies, and financial analytics.

Remuneration is extremely attractive, with base salary plus performance rewards.
