Hello all,
I would like to apply to Financial Mathematics MSc program in a prestigious school (thinking of NYU). Unfortunately my GPA is not high (3.15) but I am trying to substitute that with the work experience and the projects. So, I would like to know what experience/projects I should work on before applying that would make me up for competition. On that note, I am currently working on building a VaR model for our Fixed Income Portfolio, so I was wondering if something like this project will be helpful. Also, if you could lead me to projects that would be low key impressive.
I am currently completing my second year as an Investment analyst at a big Sovereign Wealth Fund and did some training with a huge Investment Mngt firm. I come from an engineering background and recently passed CFA level I, going for the level 2.
