Hi everyone,

I just got into the Columbia MFE program - when I applied, I believed that there was a part-time option; however, it seems like the program is definitely full-time. I just got a great job as a SWE at a hedge fund, and I don't want to give it up. Can I just... do both? I've pulled off some crazy stuff before, but this would be my craziest stunt yet.

Bro do not do both unless you want to have absolutely no life and be miserable. Even if are you would need to be absolutely laser focused and inanely disciplined. I would ask yourself what you want to get out of program and if it is worth it to take you to your goals given the massive funding cost and opportunity cost.

If you are getting well paid as SWE in hedge fund, then columbia MFE makes no sense as full time.
It's possible - it's not hard as long as you are extremely organized and your professors are understanding.

please don't do Columbia MFE part-time when you already have a "great job as a SWE at a hedge fund". Unless you want to work and pay more without really changing your expected future salary
