What should I do to the admission office if I drop out of a program that I accepted?

I got admitted to a program and I paid the deposit then did nothing more. Now I get the offer of my dream program, so I decide to drop the previous one. I know the deposit is non-refundable, but do I need to email the admission office of the previous to inform them of my decision? What should I write in my email to make it polite and decent?

Inform them as soon as possible, as you might be taking a waitlisted candidate’s seat at that program. Also, I don’t think you will get your deposit back.
