As admission decisions start to come in, let's get a tradition going here so we can share the programs we applied, the admits/rejects we received and the program we are ultimately joining.
Let's keep the format uniform and discussions on their separate programs threads. Please share details on each application timeline on the Tracker.
Below is an example.

Admits: MIT MFin, NYU Tandon MFE, CMU MSCF with 20K scholarship, NYU FinMath
Rejects: Baruch MFE, UCB MFE, Princeton MFin
Pending: Rutgers
Joining: CMU MSCF

Admits: CMU MSCF (70% scholarship), Princeton MFin, UCB MFE, MIT MFin (40% scholarship), Stanford ICME, UChicago Fin Math (70% scholarship), Cornell MFE (20% scholarship)
Rejects: Harvard Applied Math
Pending: Columbia MFE, NYU MathFin (assuming rejection from Columbia because haven't heard anything about interview)
Joining: Deciding between Princeton and CMU

Will put details into tracker soon.

Holy shit that’s crazy, probably one of the most acceptances ever on Quantnet

If you don’t mind me asking why Cornell over Columbia

From the perspective of a Chinese student, 4 main reasons: 1. Tuition+ living cost (3 semesters) 2. Career service. Columbia's service= 0. I need a summer internship to get used to the new working environment 3. The quality of Chinese mainland students. I checked students profiles on linkedin. Cornell is more selective (most students come from C9 + Sun Yat-sen+ Wuhan University) while Columbia, due to its expansion, does not have a high bar on that. 4. Trend. Cornell's stat for 18 graduates is terrific. Employment rate at graduation 81%. Avg compensation is unbelievably high... Good trend is important to me. Columbia, seems not do well this year. Most importantly, in Cornell MFE (for 18 graduates), there are only Chinese students or ABC. Columbia consists of Indian and Chinese students. And I think Indian students are good at social skills and easier to get the job. Therefore when viewing Columbia's stat, I think the avg starting salary for Chinese students will be lower.
