If you are thinking about NYC after graduating, CMU has done a really good job with its wall st campus & career advising to build out a strong presence among employers in the city...great job securing all that funding!

Do you mind sharing why you chose UWisc over Princeton MFin?

The main reason for this was my personal preference for doing a Ph.D. in Computer Science. I figured that since quant jobs would be an option even after finishing my Ph.D., I could very well go ahead and take that option.

Furthermore, the MS/Ph.D. is fully funded and I get a TA stipend during my masters years too. UWisc also gives me the option to drop out after an MS or go to another school for my Ph.D. and will fund my masters nevertheless. Financially, there is no downside and I get to save ~$100k that I would have to pay at Princeton.

Everything put together, I guess it was a combination of not getting into any debt and my personal preference for a Ph.D. that drove my decision.

Can I ask when you applied to Imperial and when you heard about your decision? I applied by the Round 2 deadline (March 1) and I have not heard anything back yet even though they said decisions would be released April 10. Thanks!

Hello, I applied really early, at the beginning of January. The release was 2 days before the expected date for me, you should definitely contact them, they are really nice on the phone.

Big congrats!! Noticed you didn't have amazing luck with the other applications.
Yes of course he had bad luck on the others. He used up all the luck on the CMU admit and Princeton interview / warm reapply request. Sounds like a good trade to me!

Princeton, CMU, and Fordham are the only ones who actually interviews and talked to me. I’m a pretty good interviewer, so I think that’s why ended up getting into CMU and Fordham.
