New Quantnet members say hi

Hello all,

I will be a new student in the MFE program starting Fall '09. I am currently finishing my undergraduate from Kent State University with a finance major and math/econ minors.

Cheers.

Hi!!!!

Greetings from Greece. Basically my name is Vasilis and I am a hospital dietitian. I like financial statistics a lot though, and especially their applications in the stock market. I hope that I will find some help here about financial time series analysis and modelling.

Hi all~

I found this community about 1 week ago.. but found this introductions today.. :D

I'm working at financial service company.. and my roll is pricing financial statements..such as FX SWAP/FRN etc.

I'm interested in credit spread analysis..(theoretical models and their application)

Frankly, I'm not good at English, so it might be difficult for me to discuss something..

Hi All

I'm a science/law student in Sydney with little knowledge in financial engineering so this community is going to be pretty educational for me :)

Hi!

Hi!
I'm Raúl and I'm from Barcelona, Spain. I'm an undergraduate in maths by Univesity of Barcelona and I hold a master's degree in financial mathematics by uab (Universitat autònoma de Barcelona). Now, I'm working for an insurance company as a middle office.
I registered here, because I like a lot the world of derivatives and I would like to learn more and be in contact with people around the world (in this case, based in NYC) with the same interest.
It's nice to meet you!!

Hi Quantneters :)

Hi Guys,

My name is Cat and I'm a Quant Strategy specialist Head Hunter from London.

Don't worry, I'm not here to hound you guys or anything like that, I just find that specialising in this field means that I need to be in touch with the Quant world and keep my finger on the pulse in terms of new strategies etc... also you never know, I might come in useful for some of you who want career advice. :D

I look forward to chatting with you all and if any of you have any questions about...well anything - feel free to give me a shout.

Cat

Hi

Hi everybody,

My name is Ram. I am a production engineer from National Institute of Technology, India. I used to work as an IT analyst at an ERP application vendor. Quit and now working as an independent stock trader.

Stumbled on Quantitative Finance a few months ago and got hooked to it. Interested in getting into some good QF program next year. So I am looking forward for guidance and interacting with all the great people here.

Hello Again,

Did a bit of school hopping and now I am currently a junior at Cornell University where I am pursuing a B.S. in Math & Stats. I am also minoring in finance and taking a heap of OO programming and OR courses. I still have tons to learn about FE.

Hey everyone I just signed up. I am interested in speaking with individuals regarding quantitative and algorithmic day-trading strategies. I teach several courses on this covering many aspects of order entry and opening/closing baskets. I will be doing some of my postings on here along with darkpooltraders which is also a great resource and career site for algo/quant traders. If anyone has any questions feel free to drop me a message.

First timer... Well not quite

Hi All Quantneters,

Although this is my first "official" interaction with the community, and my first posting to the site, I have been visiting this site for long. I cannot recall how many times this site has come to my rescue. I would especially like to thank Andy for his tireless efforts to gather relevant materials from the net, which have proved more than useful in pulling me out of sticky situations in the past.

A little about myself. I have been working in the field of pricing and market data models of Interest rate, FI and Credit derivatives instruments in global investment banking majors in Asia Pacific region, specifically in Tokyo, Singapore and Sydney. At present I am a consultant with a Big 4 consultancy major in India. Although I am not directly into quants now, my work still revolves around pricing analytics. Given the recent traumatic/interesting (I will let you have your pick) experience that many of us associated with investment banking have had, I am looking forward to a very fruitful association with this community in coming up with out-of-the-box solutions to the present malaise afflicting investment banking in general and derivatives trading in particular. And in the process if I can be of help to the other members, I will consider that to be an honour.

Looking forward to participating in the various fora of this community.

Cheers.
