Skill Set Required To Become Quant

Hello,

What skill set is needed to become a securities division quant at an investment bank? I'm an aspiring quant. Would be great if anyone suggests some beginner books to follow or provide some roadmap. My long-term goal is to work as a quant in securities division of a bank.
